Hikers can explore nature on countless trails around Caldaro.
Caldaro’s local mountain, the Mendel, can be reached on foot, by bicycle, by car or by Europe’s longest and steepest funicular.
The Mendel funicular is around a 5-minute walk from the house. It climbs 850 m at a gradient of 64% in 12 minutes.
The gorge between Castelvecchio and Lake Caldaro is called Rastenbachklamm. Steps and bridges lead through the gorge on a walk of around 2 hours.
The famous Rosengarten in the South Tyrolean Dolomites also offers challenges for alpine hikers.
